You’re a caregiver for someone with dementia and you’re wondering what you can do that’s spring related for your loved one. I’ve got ya covered!

Spring is here, and with it comes celebrations like Cinco de Mayo and Memorial Day.

Cinco de Mayo Printable Activities

This year, May 5 conveniently falls on a Tuesday and you know what that means? It’s Taco Tuesday!

If you don’t want to or aren’t able to take your loved one with dementia out to eat, then make some tacos at home (or other Mexican meal) and use this product as a placemat. I’ve also got this group of activity pages your person can have fun with.

If you work with a bigger group of people with dementia, then I also have 2 products that would work well for a small group.

The first is a version of pin the tail on the donkey. With this one participants pin the tail on the mariachi player. Put some festive mariachi music on in the background to liven up the excitement.

The other group activity is a 5 second game related to the theme of Cinco de Mayo.

Spring-Themed Printables

Spring is a great time to reconnect through familiar, comforting activities.

As soon as it gets warmer and the sun seems to shine brighter, many people have that urge to get out and start working in the garden or at least getting the garden ready.

For those that enjoyed gardening, I have this printable set of items used in the garden. It’s a set to use for a matching activity. Print out 2 sets and cut them apart. Use to match pairs.

If your loved one enjoys watching birds I have this matching set as well as a set of butterflies and moths.

If you work in a memory care facility you might be interested in this large spring unit I created. It’s designed to have the residents use their language and writing if capable. There’s music involved and reminiscing. This one would be good to use to get to their spring memories.

See this blog post for more information on this unit as well as one for fall and for winter. The post goes into more detail about the contents.

Memorial Day/Patriotic Activities

The year 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of signing the Declaration of Independence so now’s the time to get your patriotic printables. There are a lot to choose from.

I’ve got bingo, jokes, trivia, placemat page, activity pages and more.

You can find the section of patriotic printables here.

Ones that would work for a memory care facility are the Finish the Lyrics game, Bingo, Jokes, 5-second game with a patriotic theme and there’s a patriotic banner for the residents to decorate their area.
